HealingTrain Camp

Supporting & improving health, self esteem and hygiene education.

HEALING TRAIN Project Rural Healthcare is one of the biggest challenges in India today. People in economically depressed areas cannot afford health care, but they are the ones who need affordable basic health care the most. Poor health among underprivileged people is due to the lack of awareness of the health benefits of personal hygiene.

Healing Train Foundation is working towards creating a healthier society by conducting awareness programs on various issues of health and hygiene.HTF builds awareness through counselling and spread information at a mass on hygiene and sanitation. Children in slums, streets and weaker sections of the urban and rural areas live in unsanitary conditions. They are prone to various infections and diseases like diarrhoea, skin diseases, worm infections and dental diseases. One of the major reasons for infections is contaminated water and poor sanitation as well as poor hygienic practices. The underprivileged sector of society has no means of medical assistance when they fall sick. Healing Train Foundation is supporting them by organizing periodical medical camps. The date, place and other details of the camps are communicated to the people well in advance through leaflets, announcements, banners etc.,

HTF organises a medical team who works continuously to take care of each and every one.

What we do?

  • We undergo general check-ups, eye tests, dental check-ups and de-worming is provided with vitamin supplements.
  • To provide health care to the underprivileged people
  • To spread awareness on health and sanitation among the underprivileged people
  • To provide complete immunisation for children below 5 years of age
  • To reduce and control diseases

Therefore, regular medical check-ups of the children are done at the full wing. Regular medical camps help these children identify any illness. The aim of this program is to address the issues of personal health care, vaccination, hygiene and illness prevention. The main objectives of the camp are to work in the field of child health; to create awareness about communicable and vector-borne diseases, and to improve the health and nutrition status of infants and children below the age of 12. Specialized health camps are organized for Eyecare, TB, Malaria, Anaemia, Dengue, Diarrhoea, Worm infestation, Skin infections and STD/HIV diseases.

Food is one of the basic essentials of our life. Millions of children in India today survive on food that is more often deficient in vitamins and minerals. Every year millions of children under the age of 5 die due to poor nutrition globally.  Malnutrition among children is pervasive, leading not only to reduced growth and health issues but also to a lack of energy. It is directly responsible for 300,000 deaths per year in children younger than 5 years in developing countries and contributes indirectly to more than half of all deaths in children worldwide.

Today’s children are the wealth of tomorrow. They are the future pillars of our nation. Infancy is a period where rapid growth and development of the child takes place. As the child grows, the demand for nutrients increases.  The country is still struggling with Malnutrition, the condition resulting from faulty nutrition, weakens the immune system and causes significant growth and cognitive delay. Underprivileged children are more likely to have health, behavioural, learning, and emotional problems.  This is especially true of poor children whose families experience deep poverty, those who are poor during early childhood, and those who are poor for a long time.

Poor children are also more likely to be food insecure. Many of the children are malnourished due to their unhealthy diet and their economic condition. Research suggests that poor nutrition affects the educational outcomes of children. Our feeding program helps these children become physically strong and lead to their normal growth. Each day, hot meals are delivered to these needy children – satisfying their hunger, preserving their health, and restoring their smiles. Thus, these underprivileged children are guaranteed at least one nutritious meal a day to safeguard their continued health and advancement.
